| Archaeolink’s course program for 2007 is designed to incorporate a variety of skills that link in with the parks prehistory. All tools and materials are included in the course fee along with a light lunch. Courses normally run from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm. A full description of each course is available on request, along with a list of suitable accommodation close to Archaeolink, the cost of which is not included in the course fee
BRONZE AXE CASTING: COST £60.00
A one-day course, utilising the Bronze Age smiths workshop reconstruction at Archaeolink, the course will take you through all the processes to make your own ‘Migdale’ style Early Bronze Age axe. With a maximum of four participants per course you are guaranteed personal attention from your tutor, Mark Keighley, Archaeolink’s head of interpretation.

BOW MAKING: COST £175.00
A three day course which will see you carving your own Longbow using tradition tools, Side Axe, Drawknife, Spoke-shave and Scraper from a blank bow stave. No previous woodworking experience is necessary. The course is held indoors. A maximum of three participants on the course ensures you receive adequate time with the course tutor, Mark Keighley, Archaeolink’s head of interpretation.

October 13 th – 15 th, November 7 th – 9 th and December 1 st – 3rd

DRYSTONE WALLING: COST £120.00
A new course for 2007. Come and learn this very practical skill over the two day course with our tutor Dave Purvis, a master ‘waller’ from Yorkshire. No previous experience is needed and all tools are provided. Regrettably though, you can’t take your handy work away with you!!! Your gardens may be reaping the rewards of the skills learnt on this course for many years to come.

PREHISTORIC BUSHCRAFT: COST £285.00
On this 5 day course, learn how our ancestors solved problems and lived with nature. Build natural shelters, make fire, learn about wild foods, making tools and cordage. Ideal for individuals and families (active children age 10+) with basic experience of camping and the outdoors – and a willingness to learn and get their hands dirty!
Course date November 5 th – 9 th.
